The Origin: From Survival to Service
Our story begins with our founder, Charles Van Kessler.
Born in Amsterdam in 1941, his early experiences shaped a lifelong appreciation for the importance of good nutrition.
That passion led him to create Passion 4 Health — a way to share the benefits of liquid nutrition with families seeking a simpler, more comprehensive approach to daily vitamins.
Decades later in the United States, Charles fulfilled his passion for helping Kids In Desperate Situations by founding Passion 4 K.I.D.S., a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity dedicated to helping U.S. children in need.

The Beginning
Charles is born in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
1951
The Promise
After losing his entire family to WWII and escaping after eight years of extraordinary hardship in a state-run orphanage, Charles makes a solemn promise: if he survives life on the streets, he will dedicate the rest of his life to helping children in need.
1963
Coming to America
Charles came to America with the help of an American family he met. He started studying nutrition and taking vitamin pills to try to heal his body and mind. But he learned that liquids absorb much more naturally and readily than dry pills.
1973
The Mission Begins
True to his word, Charles begins his lifelong charity work, focusing on "Kids In Desperate Situations" (K.I.D.S.). This grassroots dedication lays the foundation for what will eventually become our official 501(c)(3) non-profit, Passion 4 K.I.D.S.
1996
The Nutritional Breakthrough
Disillusioned by the "pill fatigue" and poor bioavailability of traditional supplements, Charles begins an intensive period of research. He collaborates with a team of doctors and nutritional scientists to solve the absorption problem. Together, they develop a high-potency liquid delivery system, bypassing the binders and fillers found in hard-to-swallow tablets.
2007
Passion 4 Health is Born
To fuel the growing charity and solve his own struggle with "pill fatigue," Charles founds Passion 4 Health. His goal: to provide a sustainable funding source for the non-profit while bringing easy-to-take, pre-dissolved liquid nutrition to families everywhere.
2011
Formalizing the Fight
The mission achieves a major milestone with the formal incorporation of Passion 4 K.I.D.S. (Kids In Desperate Situations) as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This allows the organization to scale its impact, eventually earning a "Four-Star" rating from Charity Navigator.
2020
